However, this deal has a catch: It is only valid for the first 100 new current account customers!

… two dates: the 30th of July and 12th of August 2016. This is the standardized information, which was used by the bank already for other offering partners (e.g. web.de).
Well-meant note:
Please do not wait until the 30th of July 2016 with your online application, because it could be that the 100 Amazon voucher accounts will be already gone on this date! That would be the maximum maturity by the bank.
The 12th of August 2016 is again important for everybody! By filling and submitting the online application, you reserve the Euros 20 voucher (only 99 of 100 would then be available, etc.). However, you receive the voucher only after your successful account opening!
In order to complete this, you have time until the 12th of August 2016.

My recommendation for you
Use the VideoIdent-procedure. You can use it as soon as you have received the confirmation e-mail from Comdirect. In the e-mail, you will find a registration number, which you then tell the legitimating staff.
Go directly to the account opening:
“Yes, I want to get the Euros 20 voucher”
Summary + perspective
The free current account with Visa Card of the Comdirect is a bank offering, which we already recommend for years. For example, look at the 3 best current accounts of Germany.
Many of our readers have already implemented the recommendation and use the great service of the bank since long.
If you are not yet a customer of the Comdirect Bank, then the account opening would be a very good opportunity now, because you get Euros 20 in the form of an Amazon voucher on top of an excellent account.

Is it possible to make the VideoIndent procedure in English?

The business language of Comdirect Bank is German. All files and the online-banking is only available in German.
Depending on the language skills of the individual employee you might be able to switch into another language. You can ask politely if you could speak to an English speaking employee. But all of that is on a voluntary basis. There is no „right“ to such a service, since one agrees to the use of German language when opening the account.

You suggest having two bank account. Number26 for one account: check. I wonder which would be your recommendation for the second account if my criteria would be that they are willing to conduct business in English as well. This must be a German thing, that you don’t conduct business in the lingua franca, I have not seen anywhere else in Europe.
